Panchsakar Churna is an Ayurvedic medicine, in herbal powder form. It is used in treating constipation. This medicine is most commonly used in North Indian Ayurvedic practice. It is named so because all the five ingredients of this product start with the letter ‘sa’ (Reference: Ayurveda Sara Sangraha, page 589).
It is used in treating constipation and bloating.
Effect on Tridosha
Calms Vata and Kapha.
1 – 2 grams given along with warm water or milk, once or twice a day before or after food, or as directed by your Ayurvedic physician.
Side Effects and Cautions
Higher dose of this medicine may lead to diarrhoea.
People with high BP should exercise special precaution while taking this medicine.
Equal quantities of:
Shunti - Ginger - Zingiber officinalis
Swarnapatri - Senna leaves - Cassia angustifolia
Shatapushpa - Anethum sowa
Balaharitaki - Unripe fruits of Terminalia chebula
Saindhava Lavana - Rock salt.
