Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change. The change that probably most affects us is success. Everyone wants to be successful - on their own terms - and most people do have what it takes to produce outstanding results. They are unusually competent and brave too - they are able to face unpleasantness, to let everything play out according to nature.
So let’s clarify what you do differently when you are successful, and nourish this to replicate your successful mindset to enable innovation and successful habits to arise from it more consistently.
Desire, Purpose and Empowered Vision
Which group do you feel you belong to? Task-oriented people are perpetually caught in a whirlwind of to-do lists and monotonous tasks, with many of them feeling like they're aimlessly drifting through life with no real direction. Goal-oriented people are usually focused on what they want to achieve in life. Every task they have and every action they take is to get them closer to those goals. And there is no doubt that many people have found success in some shape or form from setting big, audacious goals in life, and using techniques such as goal setting, creative visualisation etc to attain them. You set a goal, visualise it, and then manifest it into your life. But achieving these goals does not always lead to more happiness. Additionally, visualisation has a level of limitation because you can only visualise what you already know. And while goal setting is just one aspect of growth and consciousness, there is a level beyond. This next level, it's not about goals, instead it's about a calling. You don't ask the Universe for a goal. Instead the Universe asks you to move towards something. Purposeful-oriented people live in total alignment with their highest calling. They may still have tasks and goals in their lives, but rather than being pushed to complete a task or achieve a goal, they are pulled towards a greater vision.
Most people do not do great things with their life simply because they don’t know what they want their lives to look like. They might be dissatisfied with how their life feels at this moment but are unclear about their dreams and aspirations. Never let this happen to you. Listen deeply to your soul so that your goals are in total alignment with what your soul is craving for you. It is not what society says you 'should' do. It's a deep metaphysical reality that allows you to find a purpose in life and know what you want to accomplish. When you are so deeply in tune with your soul's highest calling, you'll be able to create a new way of living and experience effortless success in all areas of your life.
Thinking is free, and if your desire is big enough, it will inspire and drive you into taking action. Dare something worthy. Be unafraid, courageous. It is not selfish, egotistical or narcissistic to make yourself relevant in the universe’s plans. It’s not about being obnoxious and overbearing toward other people. Isn’t your life that important? Aren’t you important to anyone? If not, at least be important to you. At least be a model so that you can help other people that are in your position. Change your story about yourself. Live your soul's greatest vision.
Offer up some new supporting evidence. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have the skills or talents currently. All you need now is to find out how you want to be and what you want to accomplish in your life, so that you can then craft your journey - as a homing pigeon - and prepare yourself to get there.
You are the lynch pin
We are not discussing someon else’s success. If you want to be successful, it starts with you. You are the major force in your life. You must develop and ‘own’ your identity and internal conviction. You are who you say you are, so if you don't like it, change it. We create everything in our physical world with our own interpretations. You create every belief about yourself and your life. Yet all beliefs are completely made up stories that you have the power to chage at your will. Beliefs are not Truth. Yet they are true for you. You can change your beleif about yourself and your life.
So how do you change your story?
Change the conversation with yourself. You set the rules.
Who is the referee in your life? You are. Who’s the judge? You are. Who is the timekeeper in the game of your life? You are. Who’s the player? You are.
You’re everything. How could you lose this game? There’s nobody else playing but you!
Repeat that…There’s nobody else playing but you! Let that marinate a bit and really soak it in.
You must change the way you do things. By changing the way you do things, you will get different results in life. What you do each day has got you to where you are right now. Therefore, if you continue to do what you have always done, whilst you might stay where you are, you will never get to the new places you want to go.
Make up a different story if you need to feel and be worthy. You’re going to make up a story one way or the other. You might as well make up one that says that you’re worthy! You need to do nothing to be worthy. You just have to be born and breathe.
Gremlins enter your life when you are wounded and something essential is lost in that experience. From that point on, you forget your wholeness, and the gremlins remain with you in the shadows, with the tendencies of the child who buries her head in the pillow and tells herself that light causes sadness.
If gremlins pay you a visit, know that they represent the shadow of your own or someone else’s that leads you into a potentially reactive situation. However, their apperance in your life is positive in that they present an opportunity to ignite growth and healing, and are a signal that you must love yourself. Take a deep breath and look within. Be present. Stay. Give light to the shadow by loving yourself.
Quieten your mind and open your heart to the only one guru for you, and that guru is you. It’s your life. Live it big, or small - the choice is yours.
We are the creatures of habits. It is what we consistently do that determines who we are. Rome was not built in a day, neither were you. Bill Gates did not grow Microsoft into a multi-billion company in a year. The same was true of Don Bradman or Sachin Tandulkar - they did not become cricket stars in just a month.
Great work takes time. If you want to be successful, it is going to take time and you must be able to change and improve how you manage yourself Small, consistent effort will enable you to achieve goals you only dreamed about.
However, do not let time be the deterrent. This can sound like: “I can’t right now. I want to gvet myself ready so that I can focus.” The challenge is, you’ll never get out of your rut or your roller coaster, if you don’t do it now. Timing here is a lame excuse. You must break free. Freedom is given to those who know how to get it and will do what it takes. Nothing really authentic wants a holiday from existence. Awareness is always joyfully on. Why miss the glorious experience of Life unfolding through an instant of inattention.
Passionate with your Work
When we look at all the successful people around us, whether in business, sport, the arts, whatever, they seem extremely passionate. They love what they do, often to the point of being obsessed with it.
Our work fills a large part of our lives, and a sure way to be truly satisfied, is to do what you believe is great work. And the way to do great work is to love what you do.
If you are not passionate with your work, you will complaion, sabotage and eventually give up whenever you face obstacles or setbacks. Living a successful life is not going to be easy, you will have to muster up a lot of discipline, a lot of commitment and determination to do it. And if you don’t have the passion for it, you will quit and give up sooner than you can imagine. And giving up because it isn’t easy, can become a habit.
When you are passionate about something, you are willing to sacrifice and commit for it. Being extremely passionate about anything will be why you are able to wake up earlier in the morning, work harder at it, and go the extra mile to achieve outstanding results. Be passionate with whatever you do.
Committment and Determination
How committed are you with what you want to achieve with your life? Are you willing to sacrifice your leisure time for it? Progress comes about when you get out of your comfort zone. You will have to bite the bullet and do things that you often hate to do. Watching TV, playing computer games, following Tweets and friends on Face book are easy things to do, that’s why you would have noticed that in your spurts before success you don’t do much of it.
Being fully committed to your vision and your goals is helpful in realising them. Don’t just dream about your dreams, take action. Commit. When you decide and commit to what you want to accomplish in your life, that’s it. No more questions are asked, and there will be no other options for you except to just do it and make it happen.
This is how you and all the people who have achieved resuts out there, have done it in the past. Never give up and never ignore our dreams. Fcus in on what you want, and take massive and consistent action until you create the results that you want. You come to be that way.
Believe in Yourself
Don’t ever let somebody tell you, you can’t do something. If you’ve got a dream, you’ve got to protect it. People who can’t or won’t do something for themselves, will want to tell you that you can’t do it - because they can’t. If you want something, you have to go and get it. Period. Believe in yourself and your dreams.
If you don’t believe in yourself and your dreams and aspirations, who will? You must believe that you can do it and that your dream is possible. Only then will you be able to tap into your potential and make things happen. The Wright brothers who invented the airplane were just bicycle repairman. They didn’t have degrees or a PhD in engineering. Because they had had a strong belief in their vision, flying with airplanes are possible today.
Most people only do things to the extent that they believe are possible. If you don’t believe you can fly, you will never dare to jump down from a building. If you don’t believe that you can climb Everest, you won’t even try it. It is when you believe that you can, you will train, research, prepare and eventually do it. Believing in yourself and your vision is how you tap into your maximum potential.
Learn from your Mistakes and Keep Improving
Success will come to you if you keep trying, improve your strategies and refine your actions. Doing the same thing over and over again will not get you a different result. If you took action and failed, what do you do? Give up and quit? Of course not; you change your strategies, learn from your mistakes and improve your action to get better results in the next round. This is how you will succeed. No one was born a champion or a master at something. Every master was once a disaster. Every champion was once a beginner who learnt through their own mistakes and improved from there on. Richard Branson was not born with all his business skills, neither was Steve Jobs born with amazing computer skills. All those people who you and I think are great people were not born great. Ordinary people had greatness thrust upon them by what they did. Arising from their hard work and great persistence in wanting to achieve great results, they went the extra mile and became extraordinary.
Remember, there are no failures, only feedback. As long as you never quit and treat your failures as feedback for you to learn and improve, you will never fail.
Don’t Work Alone
You can only accomplish so much by yourself. However, if you want to go to a higher level, you need a mentor, team and partners who can help you to scale. There are just so many things waiting for you to do, for instance, you need to focus on sales, make the call, follow up, do the marketing, meet clients, etc. You cannot do it all by yourself. One of the most important reasons you want to have a team by your side is so that your team can balance out your weakness and you can focus in on performing in your areas of strength. Teamwork makes the dream work.
Those people who don’t see this and think that they can handle everything by themselves will never take their lives to the next significant level. Even champion athletes need coaches to guide them along the way. So do you think that a normal athlete doesn’t need help?
With over scheduled calendars and too-long to-do lists, you can find yourself feeling worn down and worn out. But there is something you can do anywhere, anytime to feel less stressed and more centred instantly, no matter how much you have going on. Breathing has tremendous power to change your state fast, to energise, focus, relax you… in fact, working with your breath is one of the most powerful tools for increasing your health and wellbeing. You will also experience decreased feelings of being overwhelmed, reduced anxiety and depression, stabilised blood pressure, increased energy levels and muscle relaxation, so just stop, relax, and become aware of your breath and use it to enhance your physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
The breath allows you to tap into your own inner source of vital energy and experienced enhanced clarity, deep peace and radiant aliveness. Just squeeze in a little time to just breathe and be.
When you feel the world is closing in on you… breathe light.
When there seems no hope…breathe light.
When your heart is closing down…breathe light.
When you hear but there is no sound…breathe light.
When you breathe but there is no breath… breathe light.
When you see but there is no vision… breathe light.
When you touch but there is no feeling…breathe light.
Light is not outside you. Light comes from within.
It's the outpouring of an enlightened mind/heart.
Take all those feelings of hopelessness when life knocks you down, and bounce back. Life is meant to be lived.
Always Give Back
Do not be stingy with your encouragement. Your words can be a catalyst for untold change in the lives of others. If you were going to die soon, and had only one call to make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting?
If you look at the richest people such as Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, they donate most of their wealth for charity and give back to society. They did not do this because they are rich, but because they know that doing this will make them even more successful.
Tap into wealth and practice random acts of abundance. When you donate to someone who is in need, the person that changes the most is not the one who receives the money, because we cannot change what has happened to that person, but the person who donates. This is because when you contribute, you know that you have enough and you know that deep within you, you have done something noble.
And when you do something noble, you will feel good, and you will feel satisfaction. These feelings make you more confident because you know that you have helpesd someone else before. So practice this habit right now. Contribute back to the society and to the world. Start small and grow from today. An awake heart is like a sky that pours light.
Every act of love and kindness raises the vibration of the entire universe.
Trust the Greater Intelligence
When we get too caught up or entangled in the very thing we love most, it diminishes our capability of creating excellent outcomes. All wonderful ideas originate from the one divine mind. The universe speaks to you through our thoughts. Notice and follow the ideas you have recently received. Are these thoughts answers to your prayers for guidance?
Creativity is not a rare commodity, nor the privilege of great artists and thinkers. Creativity is a limitless resource, available to all of us if we know how to get out of the way and let it happen.
Creativity is not something we can do, or force to happen. We can learn to listen with every fibre of our being, with our exquisitively attuned human mind-body, and allow a greater intelligence to come through us.
When creativity finds its way through us, we realise that it wasn’t us at all. If we make an idol of our creativity, we risk losing the connection to that endless flow, because we are ennacting the very thing that blocks it.
To have faith is to trust yourself in the universe, like you trust yourself to the water. When you swim, you don’t grab hold of the water, because if you do, you will sink and drown. Instead, you relax and float.
With every single action, create what you care for.
Every moment is an opportunity to witness the sacred. Practice learning not to close your eyes, to notice without judgement, to see with unconditional acceptance and let go without effort that which stands in the way of loving the world.
Your destiny whispers in your ear. Can you hear the message? When you don’t listen, your soul moves on, and you will rarely get the same inspiration back. When an inspired idea comes to you, you must act on it. Do not wait and say to yourself that this is not the right time. The right time is now. Listen and act on it. Truth is the only thing you will ever run into, that has no agenda.
What you know can only get you where you are today. If you want to go further, you have to learn more, change and do what you need to, to succeed. Your gift is needed in the world.
