Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be critical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.
Be careful. Strive to be happy.

Here are some revelations that you might have while reading the poem Desiderata. I hope they have blessed you. Let me know what you think, I'd love to hear from you.
• Be your true self
All of us are a unique. There is no one else in the world who is exactly like you, not even your identical twin. Your personalities are different, your thumb prints are different and your names are different.
You're... YOU. A genuine and treasured product of the universe.
Often, we put ourselves down more than we should. We compare ourselves with others.
"I'm not as smart as you." "I'm not as pretty as her."
How does comparing serve you? Absolutely nothing. When it causes you to get angry, anxious, depressed, whatever, your quality of life decreases. We \ could all do well, with the reminder that we are who we are and we are playing our role in the universe's story. Just be your true self!
• Take an interest in your life
The hours of life tick away, faster than you can imagine. Be interested in charting the direction of your life. Find your passion, your hobbies, what you would champaign for, what you enjoy doing to your very last breath. While doing that, invest in self development and understand more about your strengths. Take action to improve on areas in your life that require work examples could include: relationships (professional, or not), personality, health. It is never a waste to invest in you.
• Honesty Is the best policy policy
In most modern cultures, people with good moral values and integrity are well regarded. Many scandals often rock the headlines, some more publicly than others. Just image what it does to a person under this scrutiny. It does not bring them joy, or serve them in any way. Honesty really is not just the best policy, it must be the only policy to guide your life.
An important aspect in life is celebrating your wins. Everyone craves success. Some more than others. Many will go down the path of doing more, getting more and burying themselves in the never-ending avalanche of wanting more. Most will say to themselves,"I will celebrate my success when I made a million dollars!" How many people live to see that come to past? Celebrate every triumph, no matter how small. Did you embraced a change in your daily routine today? Donate a sum of money to the local children's society? Help an elderly person cross the road? Celebrate it! It brings love, light and joy to your life. Try it today.
• Be content
Greed is truly one of the most destructive deadly qualities. It can influence people to commit crimes, use unethical ways to achieve their objectives and employ ugly techniques to get ahead. All og which does not sit well with our conscience. Personally, many of us probably won't be able to sleep, knowing that we have been the cause for another's ruin. This is why we are advocated about being content with what we have in our lives. It brings about a sense of calm, peace and keeps you grounded. Everything in the universe is arranged. Nothing is left to chance. Find joy in what we already have. Embrace it.
• Think optimistically
The law of attraction works. One of its teachings is that we should always surround ourselves with optimistic thoughts. Advising a sick patient to keep happy is because a patient who has a positive outlook fares better than one who doesn't. The secret is in your thoughts.Think positively and watch life turn to your favour.
• Extend grace to yourself and to others
This essentially includes forgiving yourself and being gracious to others. How often have you wanted a break, because you have had a hard day, or done a mental face around, when you discovered the person whom you just criticised for being slow, is not slow by choice but because they are mobility challenged? You don't have to beat yourself up when you have a mistake, many others would also have made mistakes too. Give yourself some credit! Be nice to yourself. Smile at the people around you, you might just have made someone's day.
