9 Days of Wellness 

at Forts, Palaces and Castles in Colourful Rajasthan

 

Check into iconic heritage Castle Kalwar, 20 km from Jaipur a day before the programme begins. You will be received at the Jaipur airport and driven to the Castle. If you wish to be received at the airport in New Delhi we will make your travel arrangements to the Castle. The distance is 270 km - about 5:30 hours drive.

Day One: Location: Castle Kalwar

6:30 - 8:30am.  On the roof-top of lovely Castle Kalwar and with the lush green hills in the background our renowned yoga and meditation teacher would introduce you to various yoga asans and meditation, and how to perform them.

Enjoy breakfast of fresh juices, fruit, yogurt's pouted beans and hand-grounded porridge with organic milk.

9:30am - 1:30pm.  Take a thrilling jeep safari through the villages of Kalwar. Visit a low cost school and interact with the children and teachers of the school. Distribute fruits provided by us to the students. See happiness sit large on their faces on seeing and being photographed with you.

Return to the Castle for lunch. Enjoy a swim in the pool. 

3 - 5pm Jaipur’s famous Ayurvedic doctor, Mahendra Sharma will hold a session on Ayurveda, India’s 5000 year old science of wellness - on its enormous benefits.

After the session see mesmerising folk dances on the lawns of the Castle - now beautifully lit up. 

Dinner and overnight at the Castle.

     

Day Two

6:30 - 8:30 am. Under the watchful eyes and instructions of the trainer learn to perform selected “aasans” and meditation.

After a nutritious breakfast leave for a half day excursion of Jaipur visiting the magnificent Fort Amer, the City Palace and Museum, Albert Hall and Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds.

Lunch at boutique heritage hotel Mahal Khandela, owned and operated by the scions of the royal family of Khandela.

Return to Castle Kalwar for a rejuvenating Ayurvedic massage called Abhyanga. In this therapy the whole body is massaged with special ayurvedic oils. It tones the body, improves blood circulation and restores energy. Seated around the pool learn from Dr Sharma the long-term benefits of Abhyanga.

Before dinner see a puppet show.

Day Three

6:30 - 8:30 am Yoga and meditation on the roof-top of Castle Kalwar.

After breakfast take an excursion to Sanganer to see Jaipur’s world-famous craftsmen and women making hand-block printed scarves, bed and table linen. This place is also known the world over for making products from recycled paper.

Lunch at the fabulous Narain Niwas Palace, Jaipur

Return to Castle Kalwar for the “Sirodhara” ayurvedic treatment. This therapy is beneficial for deep relaxation and to help in insomnia, anxiety and mental stress.

Bar-be-cue and dinner by the Castle pool. Overnight at the Castle

 

Day Four: Fort-Palace Madhogarh

6:30 - 8:30 am. Yoga and meditation at the Castle.

After breakfast check out from the Castle and head for 200-year old Fort-Palace Madhogarh, located 80 km away. This fort is perched on a hill with lush greenery all around and offers a perfect setting for a joyous stay, yoga and meditation.

After lunch take an excursion to Chand Baori, an awesome 11th century step-well. This step-well on the famous Silk Route served as a resting place for traders and cattle herders. Opposite the step-well is the 11th century temple dedicated to Harsh Mata, the Goddess of Happiness. Be blessed by her.

At Sikandra see the superb craftsmanship of artisans chiseling marble and red-stone to make products such as fountains, doors, statues and railings.

Dinner and overnight at Fort-Palace Madhogarh.

   

Day Five: Fort-Palace Madhogarh

6:30 - 8 am. Yoga and meditation at Fort-Palace Madhogarh.

After breakfast take an excursion to Pushkar, the temple town sacred to the Hindus. Take a walking tour of the lakes in the town.  See a memorable “aarati” being performed to Lord Brahma.

Lunch at Phool Mahal Palace-by-the- Lake of the Maharaja of Kishangarh, a town famous for its 16th century miniature paintings, collectively known the world-over as “Kishangarh School of Paintings”. See artists reproducing these lovely paintings on silk cloth or paper in a studio located at the magnificent Fort Kishangarh.

Return to Fort Madhogarh. Take the “Patra Swedan” Ayurvedic massage. This therapy uses cotton pouches filled with different herbs soaked in oil to massage the body. It is wonderful for joint and muscular pains and a good blood circulation.

Bar-be-cue and dinner at the Fort. Overnight at the Fort.

 

Day Six: Hotel Mahal Khandela - Jaipur

6:30 - 8:30 am Yoga and meditation at the Fort.

After breakfast leave for Jaipur city and check into boutique heritage Hotel Mahal Khandela, owned and operated by your hosts, KV Singh, and his wife Rudrani.

After lunch learn from Rudrani Singh some delectable dishes that make for wholesome food. She will tell you about the uses and benefits of various spices and condiments. Help her in stone grinding of spices and cooking with various unrefined oils. And discover for yourself how tasty and healthful such preparations can be.

Enjoy gala dinner on the roof-top of Hotel Mahal Khandela where soulful classical music will be played for you by a famous local troupe.

Overnight at Hotel Mahal Khandela.

 

Day Seven: Hotel Mahal Khandela

6:30 - 8:30 am Yoga and meditation on the roof-top of Hotel Mahal Khandela

After breakfast a one-to-one session with a meditation teacher from the Brahma Kumaris Ashram on “rediscovering” yourself and how one can lead a life of fulfillment.

Visit the colourful bazaars of Jaipur, the jewelers’ and spice markets. Take a cycle rickshaw ride in the inner lanes of the city.

Lunch at Hotel Mahal Khandela. In the afternoon take an excursion to see Samod Palace that has exquisite mirror work on the walls, doors and ceilings.

Return to Hotel Mahal Khandela for dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day Eight: Castle Khandela

6:30 - 8:30 am Yoga and meditation at Hotel Mahal Khandela.

After breakfast leave for Khandela - a town situated in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. Shekhawati is world-famous for its “havelis” (mansions ) that have beautiful frescoes on their entrances, walls and ceilings depicting marriage processions, village life, erotica and battle scenes.

Lunch enroute at Khandela Resort and Safari Camp, Village Thikariya.

Check in at Castle Khandela. Walk through this colourful town and excursions around to see the beautiful “havelis“.

Dinner & overnight at Castle Khandela.

    

Day Nine: Castle Khandela

6:30 - 8:30 am Yoga and meditation at Castle Khandela

After breakfast take a bullock-cart ride around the villages of Khandela. See more frescoes on the mansions of Shekhawati. Return to hotel Mahal Khandela in Jaipur. Lunch at the hotel.

In the afternoon the priests will perform a sacred “havan” for you for your good health, happiness and prosperity.

Drinks, bar-be-cue and farewell dinner at your tour hosts’ hotel Mahal Khandela. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day Ten

Leave for home after breakfast.
