The world we try to escape
is the world in which money, power, fame, success,
influence and good connections are then ways of self-esteem.
It is the world that says 'you are what you have'.
This false identity
never gives the security and safety we search for
but throws us into the spiral of a permanent desire for more:
more money, more power, more friends
in the illusion that one day we will arrive at that dream place
where no one can harm us.
You are not who people say you are
but who God made you to be
created and recreated in that eternal spirit.
As long as you keep trying to find your identity outside of God
you end up in the spiral of wanting more and more.
The escape is to free yourself from this compulsive self,
to shake off many layers of self-deception
and reclaim the true Self
and relate to your society freely, joyfully and peacefully.
Away from human praise and criticism
the way of finding your true identity
is not the simple result of having a new insight.
Reclaiming your true self requires a total transformation.
It is often a slow and long process
in which you enter more and more into the truth,
a true relationship with others
and through that, with yourself.
Choicest blessings,
Lovingly… your own… Shantiji
