Study Ayurveda off campus by distance/correspondence education at your convenience. The syllabus and fees are exactly the same as studies on campus. With home study, you can save time, start any time you choose, retain your current job and lifestyle, learn at your own pace with no class room competition, and have ample time for completion. Correspondence may be via email, CD or notes.
You may enrol and start throughout the year by sending your completed. Enrolment Form together with full payment for the course you have chosen to the office. You will be sent a receipt, confirmation of enrolment (which you could need
to support Youth Allowance/Austudy/Abstudy applications) and your study package.
Tution fees must be paid in full on enrolment. You can pay by credit card, eftpos, cheque or cash at The Meditation Institute's office.
Course notes are exceptionally clear, use a main point outline method of presentation, are well organised, remarkably concise and easy to learn. They are simplified and written for Westerners, so that somewhat archaic formats and complicated Sanskrit terminology has English translations. They outline the objective of the lesson, how this is delivered and the expected learning outcome. The material is geared towards a practical study plan and its application in your own life and further.
To fulfill the comprehensive requirements of the courses in the practical areas, for instance massage, the body of Ayurveda, rejuvenation and revitalisation, pharmacology of Ayurveda etc. an interactive CD Rom or Video is included when a course requires it.
You will complete the practical aspects of the course through workshops held at week-ends in the Gold Coast Campus. You may have to allow for travel and accommodation expenses. Please note: Not all subjects have workshop components.
Workshops are held several times a year with the dates published in the Meditation Institute calenday/diary. All subjects are progressively assessed. This means that there will be more than one piece of work assessed for each subject. It can take the form of a written assignment, written theory exam, practical assessment or case study.
Assessment can be completed either off campus under supervision, on campus, or at workshops. Supervisors must be approved by The Meditation Institute's Ayurveda faculty. The subject guide will explain what assignments are required for each subject. Where practical assessment on campus is not possible, video assessment will be necessary.
The clinical subjects require attendance at the Gold Coast campus. Clinics are held several times a year with upcoming dates published in The Meditation Institute newsletter.
