Program

Day One: Cochin 

Arrive by Singapore Airlines at 20:25

Our representative will receive you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.

         

Day Two: Cochin 

Hotel: Holiday Inn or equally good

After breakfast take a full day tour of Kochi visiting Fort Kochi, Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Bolgatty Palace located on scenic Bolgatty Island and Museum of Kerala History. 

In the evening walk on Marine Drive - a picturesque promenade of Kochi. The walkway has the Rainbow Bridge and the Chinese Fishing Net Bridge. The Marine Drive is a riot of colours in the evenings. 

Dinner and overnight at hotel.

 

Day Three: Cochin - Athirappilly

Hotel: Holiday Inn or equally good.

After an early breakfast drive to Athirappilly located 66 km from Kochi. Enroute pass thorough breathtaking forest cover and rivulets. Athirappilly has South India's most beautiful waterfalls: Charpa and Vazhachal. Here you will be driving along the 150-km Chalakudy River that finally merges into the Arabian Sea. The forests are home to lion-tailed macaque, bison, sambhar deer and rare species of birds.

Return to Kochi for relaxation, dinner and overnight at your hotel.

 

Day Four: Kumarakom  

Hotel: Abad Wispering Palms Lake Resort or equally good

After breakfast leave for Kumarakom - situated on Vembanad Lake in the backwaters of Kerala’s canals. Visit the Kumarkom Bird Sanctuary, home to cuckoos and Siberian storks, Bay Island Driftwood Museum and Pathiramanal Island - haven for rare migratory birds and the ancient Thazthaangady Mosque.

Dinner and overnight at hotel.

 

Day Five: Munnar 

Hotel: Orchid Highland or Grand Plaza

After an early breakfast leave for Munnar. Visit Pothamedu for an enchanting view of lush-green tea, coffee and spice plantations, the lovely waterfalls at Nyayamkad and Attukul. See in its natural habitat at Rajmala the rare mountain goat called Nilgiri Tahr. Rajmala is located 2700 meters above sea level. 

Return to your resort for dinner and overnight.

 

Day Six: Manner

Hotel: Orchid Highland or Grand Plaza or equally good.

After an early breakfast visit the Echo Point, Periyar Kannal Waterfalls and Kundala Reservoir. In the evening take a walking tour and see the setting sun in all its glory.          

Dinner and night at your resort.

 

Day Seven: Thekkady

Hotel: Greenwoods or equally good.

After breakfast leave for Thekkady - the cardamom country and wildlife destination of South India. Visit the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Abraham's Spice Garden. See a Kathakali Classical dance performance at Mudra Cultural Centre. Take a walking tour of the colourful bazaars of Thekkady before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

 

Day Eight: Thekkady

Hotel: Greenwoods or equally good

Visit the Sita Devi Lake. Take a cruise on the lake. In the afternoon enjoy a rejuvenating Ayurvedic massage for which South India is so well-known the world over. Walk through the beautifully laid out spice and herb plantations before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

 

Day Nine: Alleppey

Stay in Luxury Houseboat

After breakfast leave for Alleppey, one of the world's most beautiful locations with its lagoons, backwaters and unending stretches of paddy fields. Check into your luxury houseboat.

Cruise through the backwaters and enjoy the serene beauty all around. Take a walk on the beautiful Alleppey beach. Visit the Buddhist Statute at the nearby Karumadi village.

 

Day Ten: Alleppey

Hotel: Palmgrove Lake Resort or equally good

Backwater Canoeing Trips around Alleppy -  have an amazing day taking backwater tours in a smaller boat or canoe passing through serpentine canals. Stop now and then to meet the friendly village folks. Walk through the lush green fields and see the setting sun in all its glory. Enjoy delicious local cuisine in a lovely village and drink plenty of fresh coconut water.

Return to the resort for dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day Eleven: Kovalam

Hotel: Uday Samudra or equally good.

After breakfast leave for Kovalam and check into your hotel.

Visit the Vellayani Lake and the Neyyar Dam. Late afternoon takes a tour of the Kovalam Fish Market and the Kovalam and Hawa Beaches. Also visit the Napier Museum, Padmanabhanapuram Temple and Sri Chithira Art Gallery.Discover the many charms of the city of Trivandrum before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day Twelve: Kanyakumari (Cape Comorin)          

Hotel: The Sea Shore or equally good.

After breakfast take an excursion to Kanyakumari - the Southernmost tip of India, and the confluence of Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. See the lighthouse and Vivekananda Rock Memorial. 

Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay after walking along its lovely sea shores.

 

Day Thirteen: Madurai

Hotel: The SPK Hotel or equally good.

After breakfast leave for Madurai, a 3500 year old city and one of India's best-known pilgrim centres. Here is located the famous Shree Meenakshi Temple which has 4500 pillars and 12 towers. Millions on Hindus converge here during the Chitirai Festival. Visit the Banana Market that sells 16 varieties of this delicious fruit, the Thirmalai Nayakkar Palace, St.Mary's Cathedral and Gandhi Museum.

Dinner and overnight at hotel.

 

Day Fourteen: Kodaikanal

Hotel: Kodai by the Lake or equally good.

Leave Madurai for Kodikanal, a lovely resort situated 2700 metres above sea level. It is one of India's most enchanting holiday destinations. After check in, visit Berijam Lake and Dolphin's Nose, a rock cliff for a breathtaking view of Kodaikanal. Take walking tours around before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day Fifteen: Kodaikanal 

Hotel: Kodai by the Lake or equally good 

After an early breakfast visit Shenbaganur Museum,Silver Cascade Falls

 

Day Sixteen: Kodaikanal

Head for the Kochi airport to board Singapore Airlines at 21:25 hours

Return home with lasting memories of your South India Tour.
