The key ingredient, saffron, is considered a royal spice in Ayurveda, the oldest documented body of holistic medical knowledge, with a system of plant oils and herbs originating in India over 6,000 years ago. Saffron is a spice derived from the flower of the saffron crocus (Crocus sativus), a species of crocus in the Iridaceae. It is the most expensive spice sold by weight. Kumkumadi thailam is the high quality, pure, natural saffron oil at its base, that helps reduce blemishes, dark spots, has anti-ageing properties and prevents anti-fungal, anti- bacterial infections.
