Dear reader
The stress of the past few years has led many of us to crave connection with the natural world. Nature has given us so much, and this planet and its inhabitants are precious.

Whether it’s strolling through the gardens, sitting and looking out at the mountains, or witnessing the sunrise, starry, starry skies, or wildlife, nature is a sacred source of joy, peace, and healing.

Nirvana’s Touch the Earth eco-friendly days are a renewal treat. There are 70+ acres of our stunning part of the world to explore and breathe in the fresh, wild air. We are made of interstellar dust, ultimately.
Shanti Gowans
A special welcome and invitation is extended to volunteers who have an inclination and are able to join us at Nirvana Wellbeing Retreat to touch the earth for a 4-hour workday where we undertake a wide variety of small projects, long term fire mitigation, deferred maintenance, landscaping, weeding, and overall cleanup, cleaning, organising and transforming the outdoor area into a contemplative garden. Ideally, you need to be independent, or part of a small contingent of willing-to-do whatever people.
touch-the-earth
The overarching plan is to provide for Forest Learning and Healing Forest Therapy, together with Cultivating the Food Garden, that replicates the ecological functions of nature.
This includes the relationship between the utilisation of native plants in green spaces, ponds, and natural water filtration, the removal of weeds and toxins, and providing habitat for wildlife together with landscaping.

Over the years, volunteers have joyfully donated many hours to the Living Laboratory at Nirvana Wellbeing Retreat, helping us accomplish our habitat restoration and gardening projects.

The Shanti Yoga Community at Nirvana invites you to join us for a little time on Saturdays
and offer four hours of seva (service) in the garden, and join us for either breakfast or lunch on the house. It would be great if you can bring your own gardening equipment, such as gloves, gumboots, sunhat, pruning shears, etc. if you have them.
