Cobra

Bhujanga Asana

Now the rebel stirs within me
Like the adolescent seeking
freedom from the womb of childhood longs to fly...
My spirit rises, from the lap of earth...

  1. Inhale. Keeping your hands where they are, slide your body forward, through your
arms, rolling your buttocks down till you are lying on the floor.
  2.  Then, pressing your palms firmly onto the floor, roll up your chest and head,
    pulling your trunk up.
  3. Stretch out your arms, and turn your face up and back.
  4. Keep your thighs on the floor.

The spinal region is toned and rejuvenated. Some call this posture a panacea for backaches,
displaced discs, lumbago, sciatica, if done carefully and gently. Due to the chest expansion, the
lungs gain elasticity and the heart has a gentle reflex massage. The blood circulation improves in the
pelvic area, keeping it healthy.
