Beloved,
Yoga’s essential function is to radically connect us with everything,
loving all that is,
excluding no one.
Everything is welcome
- all people, all matter, all emptiness, and darkness too.
Even our depression, fear, and exhaustion
contain supreme intelligence and healing power.
They are vital parts of us,
revered visitors of the present moment,
longing to be touched
with compassion, understanding, and breath.
Despite what has happened in the past,
what you are currently experiencing,
or what the future holds,
you can always begin again
right where you are.
To make the world a better place,
all we need to start with, is making peace with ourselves.
With a simple breath,
with an ache or loneliness,
with a relaxed or tense body,
with a small prayer, or none,
slow down.
Just touch life gently, where life is touching you.
Take this moment, or this day, one breath at a time.
You stand on sacred ground,
supported and held
by ancient, mysterious, unnameable forces.
You belong,
and you need no proof.
Within you dwells a transcendent, divine presence
transforming all things.
This mystery abides in and with everyone and everything
since the beginning of time.
In this presence, every kind of life has meaning
and has an influence on every other kind of life.
All creation—all people, all matter, all emptiness and darkness too—
is both its hiding place and its revelation place.
Our home is not just the country, religion, or family we belong to,
but the cosmos we live inside of.
Evolution liberates divine presence
with the profound understanding that this love,
a deep, calm seeing,
arises from meditative contemplation.
