The infinite potential from which all energy manifests is your consciousness
June 1, 2026Reflections of the nature of existence & the teaching of yoga regarding our connection to the divine
The universe had a dream, and you are it.
The pure consciousness enshrined in the hearts of all beings
is the one Source to which all worship and all rivers flow.
You are the eternal energy that manifests as this universe;
you did not simply come into this world, but emerged from it,
much like a wave from the ocean.
You are not a stranger here.
Everything that happens to you, happens for you.
Every experience reflects your own karma,
belonging not to the superficial ego, but to your deeper self.
In Yoga, the perceptible universe is seen as the gross manifestation
of the Cosmic Reality, Brahman,
governed by the eternal cycles of Maya Shakti.
Alternately vibrant and dormant,
the process of becoming manifest
and returning to the unmanifest state
occurs eternally.
Its projections and withdrawals are like day and night,
a wakeful state and sound sleep,
prolonged into aeons
with neither a beginning nor an end.
While vibrant, the universe and the living beings become manifest.
In the dormant state they remain unmanifest.
This process of projection and withdrawal continues eternally.
Cycles transcend time.

Existence is One, yet its manifestations are many.
Cosmic Life permeating the universe
is the divine persistence
through perishing phenomena.
Living beings appearing alongside the universe’s projection
are infinite in number
existing not only on Earth
but also in celestial and nether spheres.
The workings of nature and divine actions are one and the same.
Aided by nature, living beings slowly evolve
from a low order of existence to a higher one,
over millions of cycles
to become human.
While physical forms are subject to death and rebirth,
continuity is maintained through aeons.
The link among them is perfect.

The Jivatman is the individual self
the living soul (atman), enshrined in a physical body.
The Jivatman renews the body through death and birth,
while depending upon the Cosmic Intelligence, Paramatman.
The higher the birth, the more perfected the mortal coil becomes.
Evolution is necessary
for the Jivatman
to eventually merge with the Universal Self (Paramatman).
As human beings, we are the immortal Atman,
the most highly evolved Jivatman.
yet we ignorantly identify with this mortal coil
passing through transmigration.
Many human births are required
to eventually merge with the Paramatman.
Karma is the means of endeavour
by which all beings sustain themselves
and evolve into a higher order of existence.
Unskillful choices bring misery and retard evolution
while skillful actions aid it, leading to freedom.
A well-organised human mind
is like a kalpavriksha, or a wishing tree
that grants any boon.
Yet we must remember that happiness and sorrow are interrelated.
One does not exist without the other.
For example, the pleasure of eating a palatable dish
does not exist without the pain of hunger.
All dreams are projections of the mind
and have no external reality.
Ultimately, heaven and hell are creations of the mind
according to our karma.
We inhabit the worlds we create for ourselves.

Yoga is the science of using the mind-body
to hasten the evolutionary process
It is based on the divinity inherent in all human beings.
By practicing the yamas and niyamas,
the first two limbs of Yoga, which virtues such as
non-injury, truthfulness, non-stealing, continence, non-covetousness,
purity, serenity, austerity, sacred study, and surrender to a higher spiritual power,
we recognise the divinity within ourselves and others,
and act in accordance with this realisation.
Evil can never be conquered by evil.
When you encounter someone
using extraordinary moral and spiritual force
to elevate the purity and self-management of humankind,
know that a special divine power is manifest.
The ultimate goal of this practice is to transcend the dualities
of heaven and hell, happiness and misery, birth and death
to attain mukti or emancipation from the cycle of rebirth.
Mundane existence persists
until the Jivatman that merges with the Paramatman
does not re-enter.
This ephemeral universe
is the concrete manifestation of the divine.
Therefore i encourage you to maintain a holy relationship with it.
I hope these insights serve your spiritual journey.
